The Front-End

Lavender6 is not your usual NGO setup… we pride ourselves in being a close-knit community. Neighbours, Plumstead residents, friends from across South Africa as well as from overseas came together to form this project. Everyone is updated and comes together when we have to transport the kids, organise/facilitate outings and collect items for special drives.  Join us on Facebook!

The Back-End

Meet the admin team: Lutz Manzelmann is the head of the project, supported by Dawn Jackson. Jessica and Jared are helping out as tutors for Maths and English. Community leader Mark Nicholson is our source of advice in Lavender Hill, and he is the trusted personal support to the kids - for stuff they have to go through, at home or at school.

" To feel out the soul of things, and to make a difference in other people’ lives is my calling. Born in Hamburg, I studied theatre in Vienna and worked at several European opera houses and in Germany's film industry. After moving to Cape Town, I wrote a discerning travel publication on South Africa. In 2015, I developed The Activation Game, a 12 1/2 week personal development course. Since then, my primary focus is on coaching and empowering young adults. In 2019 I started my youth development work for the University of the Western Cape. In 2020 I began Lavender6, in partnership with Plumstead CAN and Mark Nicholson of Lavender Hill. Since then, my focus is on the kids of Lavender Hill. I am E.T to them, but they grab my finger with love and trust. And that brings the light 🙂 "
